PR Card Renewal
After immigrating to Canada the most important piece of document is your Permanent Resident Card (PR Card). This is your re-entry visa if you want to travel outside. It also serves as a primary ID Card within Canada
Here is when you need to fill in the official forms for PR:
- To renew a PR Card that has already or is about to expire
- Replacement of a PR Card that has been lost stolen or damaged
- To update the information on current PR Card (e.g.; legal change name)
Eligibility to Apply
To be eligible to apply for a PR Card you must:
- Have permanent resident status
- Be physically present in Canada
- Not be a Canadian citizen or a registered Indian under the Indian Act
- Not be under an effective removal order
- Not be convicted of an offense
