Federal Skilled Workers
This stream is ideal for those who possess higher education, English language proficiency and work experience in managerial levels. The candidates apply through Express Entry pool and their nominations are based on the points they score in the draw. Usually the points required are more than 400 – but each draw has its own number based on various criteria.

Federal Skilled Trade
This category is for technical staff and people with somewhat lesser proficiency in English and technical or trade diploma/degree holders. Although they come under point based system too, it is ideal for white-collar job holders as well. A lower point threshold is common for this stream. So, if you cannot qualify for FSW stream, you might qualify under FST program.

Canadian Experience
Applicants who have been living and working inside Canada for more than a year can qualify for this stream. This might include students who have worked here after graduation or anyone who came on an open work permit, spousal work permit or close work permit among others. The Canadian experience plays a vital part when it comes to within Canada applications for PR.
